In short

This site does not use third-party tracking, analytics pixels, advertising cookies, or behavioural profiling. The only personal data collected is what you choose to share when you subscribe to the newsletter or get in touch.

Newsletter subscriptions

When you subscribe, you provide an email address and, optionally, your first and last name. This data is used solely to deliver the essays, the monthly note, and occasional related correspondence. It is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

The legal basis for processing your email under the GDPR is your explicit consent, given via the consent checkbox on the subscribe form. You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link included in every email, or by writing to the contact address below. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.

Processor

Newsletter delivery is handled by Buttondown, an email service provider acting as a data processor. Your email and name are stored on their systems for the purpose of sending the newsletter. See Buttondown's privacy policy for details on how they handle data.

Cookies and analytics

This site does not set marketing or analytics cookies. No Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no behavioural advertising. Only strictly necessary cookies (if any) required for the site to function are used.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your personal data, and to object to processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact the address below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
